Using "templates" in Moodle.

There are a number of ways you can save yourself heaps of time when creating Moodle courses. This series of five videos shows you how you can create a template for your courses that can contain images and other content that created once can be used again and again. The videos also show how you can import materials from another course as well to help save you time.

Video 1: Creating the course you wish to use as the template.
Video 2: Using backup and restore to create the template and a new course.
Video 3: Adding course content - part 1.
Video 4: Adding course content - part 2.
Video 5: Importing content from another course.

It is always a good idea too when you have finished creating any course you back it up before any students or other teachers join. I would also suggest downloading a copy of the backup file and storing it in a different location for safe keeping. This may be as simple as saving it to a flash drive, it doesn't really matter, it's just great to know you have another copy of it somewhere. :-)

Wikis in Moodle

This video shows you how to add text to a wiki (web page) inside Moodle. Wiki's are used in Moodle when the activity requires all students to add a response to the one page.

Q & A forums in Moodle

Moodle has introduced a new type of forum called a Question and Answer forum. This forum is different to the standard forum and requires you to post your answer before you can see other students' responses. With this type of forum you need to reply to the question that has been posted to the forum by your lecturer (and not create a new discussion topic as you might do in a standard forum). This video will show you how to post to a Q and A forum.
